This policy explains what personal information Rezvani Automotive collects through sellyourtruck.ca, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It is written to meet our obligations under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
Who we are
Rezvani Automotive is a motor vehicle dealer registered with the Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council (OMVIC), registration number 5706528, located at 18095 Leslie St, Newmarket, ON L3Y 9A5. We buy trucks from private owners in York Region and the GTA.
What we collect
When you submit the form on this site, we collect:
- Your name and phone number, and your email address if you give us one.
- Details about your truck: year, make, model, approximate mileage, condition, and anything you add in the notes box.
- A record of your consent: the date and time, the exact wording you agreed to, and the IP address the submission came from.
- Basic technical information sent by your browser: IP address, browser user agent, the page you arrived from, and any campaign tags in the web address. We use this only to understand how people find the site.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, your driver’s licence number, SIN, banking details or any other sensitive identifier through this form. If we need documents to complete a sale, we will arrange that with you directly.
This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Confirm before launch — if Vercel Analytics is switched on, say so here.
Why we collect it and how we use it
We use your information for one purpose: to contact you about buying your truck, and to complete that sale if you decide to go ahead. That means calling you, texting you, or emailing you with an offer and any follow-up needed to arrange seeing the vehicle and completing the paperwork.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing.
Your consent
Consent is express and opt-in. The checkbox on the form is unchecked by default and you have to check it yourself before you can submit. The wording you agree to is:
“I'd like Rezvani Automotive to contact me by phone, text, or email about buying my truck. I can unsubscribe at any time.”
You can withdraw your consent at any time by calling us at 905-836-0195 or emailing amir@rezvaniautomotive.com. Every commercial email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Withdrawing consent stops further marketing contact; it may also mean we can no longer proceed with buying your truck.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with service providers that help us run the site and handle leads, and only to the extent they need it:
- Vercel, our website host, which processes requests to this site.
- Google, where your submission is stored as a row in a private Google Sheet, and Resend, which delivers the notification to us and the confirmation email to you.
- If you sell us your truck, the parties needed to complete the transfer — for example ServiceOntario, your lender if there is a lien, and our insurer.
Some of these providers may store or process data outside Canada, which means it can be subject to the laws of that country. Confirm the hosting and email regions before launch and name the countries here.
We will otherwise disclose your information only where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep consent records for three years after your last contact with us, which is the retention period recommended for CASL compliance. Lead details are kept for [retention period to be decided], and records connected to a completed vehicle sale are kept as long as OMVIC and tax rules require.
How we protect it
Submissions are sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Access to lead information is limited to the people at Rezvani Automotive who need it to contact you and complete a purchase.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
